Cards Against Humanity | An extremely dirty game with the Apples to Apples mechanism |
If you can be offended this is not the game for you. It will have people laughing... hard the first several times that you play it. Eventually the shock value of the cards goes away along with some of your innocence (if applicable). At that point the game loses some of its charm, but new expansions have managed to keep it coming back out for many of our gatherings. |

Catan | The Monopoly of the future. |
This game should be in everyone's game collection no matter how small. It is easily approachable, has low/moderate level strategy, a new map every time, can be taught in 5-10 minutes, and is probably the ultimate gateway game. |

Glass Road | Uwe does it again |
A great game with a unique resources disc that will give your brain a workout until you get used to how it works. This is much lighter than Agricola or Caverna and plays in much less time. Out think your opponents and gain benefits from their play while limiting their productivity. Great player interaction even though each player has his/her own board. (Be aware if you buy your own copy that there is one card that should be removed from the game per the designer: The Roofing Company. There is a rare chance that a specific combination of cards could come out and generate an infinity engine. Removing this card resolves that issue. Even with this error it is still a fantastic game.) |

Dixit Odyssey | A beautiful gateway game that anyone can play and enjoy |
The beautiful artwork stands out here more than anything. Apples to Apples style play but with pictures instead of words. The better you know your opponents and how they think the better you will be at this game. |

Quantum | An original game with variable maps to make each game unique. |
This is a great game with a mechanic very different from anything else you've played. The dice are your space ships competing to dock around a planet with the proper total. Each numbered ship has its own ability, speed, strength. Way more complex than it sounds and very easy to learn/teach. |

BioShock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia | Good 2-player (or 2 Team) game, but original MSRP was steep |
This plays best as a two player. The original MSRP was too steep for many at $85, but it can now be found at a much more reasonable price. Give it a try if you are ever looking for a fun 2-player experience. There is good strategy and a lot of player interaction. It can also be played with two teams. If you liked the video game the theme is there, but probably not in the way you'd imagine. |

Robot Turtles | Great for Kids (probably 4+) |
Not a great game for adults, but great for kids between 4 and 10. Start them here and let them graduate to Robo Rally. |

Power Grid: The Robots | A must have if you want to play solo or with only 2 people |
A great system for those who need to play solo or with only two people. It also adds a new challenge in that you know the rules by which the robot operates and you now need to take those into consideration in your decision making. |
