Mission

Mission statement:

We believe games inspire, motivate, and help us grow. In this positive space, we seek to provide all people the challenge, art, and fun unique to the world of board games.

Purpose:

Spielbound educates, engages, and creates community through board games.

Goals:

• collect and maintain a comprehensive collection of board games from around the world;
• provide a comfortable space for the community to come together and play board games;
• encourage creativity through designing board games;
• promote and reward positive gamesmanship;
• spread joy and critical thinking through increased game playing by all.

We will be using this site to spread word of our mission and goals while also working at our new board game library for all to benefit from (especially those in Omaha, initially). Be sure to sign up for our newsletter on the right to stay in the loop!

Code of Conduct

Spielbound is a space for fun and interaction between people from many different backgrounds. We are dedicated to the remarkable ways in which people gather around the table and create community through games. This can be as family, friends, or even total strangers. All are welcome, and all are equal at our tables.

As such, we are committed to keeping our space safe for people from all backgrounds. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment or hateful language or actions. There are no exceptions to this, and this policy is intended to protect all expressions of gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, age, and ability. If you do feel unsafe or discriminated against at any time, please notify our staff. We will work to address the issue however needed, including ejecting offending patrons or involving the authorities.

We believe this commitment is crucial to keep ours an environment that families can enjoy together, where young people can learn skills from games, and where everyone can feel safe to be themselves and have fun.
