Trivia for People Who Don't Know Stuff!
Not a trivia buff? It doesn’t matter! Each player writes a guess to a question such as “In what year did the bikini swimsuit makes its first appearance?” or “How many feet wide is an NFL football field?” and places it face-up on the betting mat. Think you know the answer? Bet on your guess. Think you know who the experts are? Bet on their guess. The closest answer pays out according to the odds on the betting mat. Strike it big and you’ll be cheering like you just hit the jackpot!

Wits & Wagers is a trivia game that lets you bet on anyone’s answer. So you can win by making educated guesses, by playing the odds, or by knowing the interests of your friends. It can be taught in 2 minutes, played in 25 minutes, and accommodates up to 20 people in teams.

Wits & Wagers Game Show events are hosted by North Star Games at Origins and GenCon. These team events have gotten great buzz from Alan Moon, Tom Vasel, and hundreds of others.

Clue

The classic detective game! In Clue, players move from room to room in a mansion to solve the mystery of: who done it, with what, and where? Players are dealt character, weapon, and location cards after the top card from each card type is secretly placed in the confidential file in the middle of the board. Players must move to a room and then make an accusation against a character saying they did it in that room with a specific weapon. The player to the left must show one of any cards accused to the accuser if in that player's hand. Through deductive reasoning each player must figure out which character, weapon, and location are in the secret file. To do this, each player must uncover what cards are in other players hands by making more and more accusations. Once a player knows what cards the other players are holding they will know what cards are in the secret file. A great game for those who enjoy reasoning and thinking things out.

Pants on Fire!

Players are given 3 different generic descriptions of feelings or situations. They then write down events from their own lives that match the 3. But, of the three, 1 must be true, 1 must be a lie, and the third can be either true or false. Each player then tells his stories, and the other players try to determine which ones are true and false. They score points for guessing correctly.

Squiggle

SQUIGGLE™, a fun game for kids, teens and adults, will stretch your imagination to its limits. Players have a limited time to create a picture or object from a random line: a squiggle. There could be hundreds of pictures or objects created from a simple squiggle; it all depends on which way you look at it.

The SQUIGGLE Score Book provides a point value for over 870 pictures and objects that you may create. It also measures players' and teams' creativity level.

Anagramania

Anagramania is an anagram-based board game for 2 to 6 players. Unlike typical anagram word puzzles, the clues in Anagramania are not just the word or words from which the answer is derived. Instead, Anagramania clues actually provide a hint or definition of the correct solution. Here's an example:

"Sam rang a friend to find out why the letters he wrote were so confused!"

The object is to re-arrange all the letters of the keywords ("Sam rang a") - which are shown in bold italics on the actual clue cards - to form a single word that solves the clue. The answer is of course "anagrams".
For each game, every player has an 11" x 4" 'throw away' clue sheet containing twenty clues like the one above. There are 24 sets of six clue sheets in each game pack. That's enough for six players to play 24 separate games.

During game play, players conceal their clue sheets in special 'pockets' that allow them to see only one new clue at a time. In most board games players have to await their turn, which can be quite irritating if each player requires several minutes for his or her turn. That's not the case in Anagramania. In each turn, all players compete simultaneously to solve the same clue. No time limit is set at the start of the turn, but once any one player claims to have the answer (and has written it down) other players have just one minute more to complete their efforts to find the answer (timed by a sand timer).
By solving clues, players move pawns on a 14" x 14" play board. A correct answer earns forward progress - two squares for the first person who answered, one square for others. For a wrong answer, the player moves his/her pawn back a square; and for no answer, the pawn is left in its current position. The winner is the first player to reach the center circle on the board, with a typical game lasting about 45 minutes. The simultaneous method of play makes the game very exciting, and leaves no time for any player to get bored!
