Barbarossa | Special Valentine's Weekend Demo - Adults Only! |
Last year I demoed Tanto Cuore during the Valentine's Day weekend, which was totally inappropriate and lots of fun. This year, I'll be showcasing the even more inappropriate and outrageous Barbarossa. Imagine an alternate history in which the German army of World War II is entirely populated by scantily-clad anime girls, wrap up the war game theme and objectives in deck-building mechanics, and you have one of the weirdest marriages of theme and mechanics in the entire board game pantheon. It's truly one of the highlights of board gaming oddities. But it is also a very controversial game, so I encourage anyone interested in the demo to do a little research about the game at boardgamegeek.com and make sure it's actually something they can get into. Due to the nature of the theme and illustrations, this demo will be Adults Only. |

Favor of the Pharaoh | Demo on Demand |
Like my demo of Castle Assault last week, I'll be doing this demo-on-demand for anyone interested between the times listed. Just drop by my table and express your interest that you'd like to learn the game. It's a fast-paced game, usually lasting about 15 minutes per player. I think the demo-on-demand format will work well for this game because of it's brisk play time and because I'd like to accommodate the people playing in the Splendor tournament. No need to sign up ahead of time for this demo unless you'd like to reserve a specific time. |

Castle Assault | Demo on Demand |
I'm running this demonstration as a "demo on demand" with multiple demos one right after the other for anyone who wants to learn the game. This is a two-player game with games expected to last between half an hour and forty-five minutes or so, so I think this format will work well. With this is mind, there is no need to sign up ahead of time unless you'd like to reserve a specific time sometime in the afternoon. Otherwise, just drop by the demo table and sit down and play! |
