Description:

Come learn this fantasy adventure game from Vlaada Chvátil ranked in the top ten on BoardGameGeek. This can be a long game, especially with first time players, so depending on player count and scenario chosen, please expect to commit several hours to this game.

Publisher's description:
"The Mage Knight board game puts you in control of one of four powerful Mage Knights as you explore (and conquer) a corner of the Mage Knight universe under the control of the Atlantean Empire. Build your army, fill your deck with powerful spells and actions, explore caves and dungeons, and eventually conquer powerful cities controlled by this once-great faction! In competitive scenarios, opposing players may be powerful allies, but only one will be able to claim the land as their own. In cooperative scenarios, the players win or lose as a group. Solo rules are also included.

"Combining elements of RPGs, deckbuilding, and traditional board games the Mage Knight board game captures the rich history of the Mage Knight universe in a self-contained gaming experience."

I'd like to thank Zach, Quentin, Lance, and Killian (sorry for any misspellings) for dedicating the time to learn this game. Unfortunately, we fell victim to the worst enemy in Mage Knight, time. I still think we covered almost everything there is in the game, except for final scoring, and cooperative city assaults, thanks to Killian single-handedly sacking the peace-loving Blue City.

I originally planned to run two separate games if four or more people showed up, but changed my mind at the last minute, which I regret now. If I would have stuck to my guns, both games probably would have been able to finish in a reasonable amount of time. I hope everyone still enjoyed learning, and didn't feel the game dragged on too much. That was the first time I'd tried a four-player game, and will probably be my last.
